The $100 Guarantee
The $100 Guarantee
The Grounded was built on one simple idea: truth should have consequences.
In a time when headlines are written to provoke rather than inform, we believe journalism should earn trust, not demand it. That is why we created a standard no other publication is willing to match. If we publish something that is factually incorrect, and a paid subscriber identifies the specific error with verifiable evidence, we will pay that subscriber $100.
No excuses. No vague language. No corrections hidden at the bottom of the page.
This guarantee is not a marketing stunt. It is the foundation of what we stand for. The Grounded exists because public trust in media has collapsed under the weight of profit and propaganda. Our work is designed to rebuild that trust from the ground up, one story and one fact at a time.
We do not take ads. We do not publish clickbait. We do not answer to investors or sponsors. We answer only to readers.
When we get it right, we earn your trust.
When we get it wrong, we pay for it.
Every word on this site carries a cost, and we are willing to stand behind every one of them.
How It Works
If you are a paid subscriber and you believe an article contains a factual inaccuracy, you can submit a claim to accountability@thegrounded.media with the following information:
- A link to the specific article and the sentence or claim you believe is inaccurate.
- A short explanation of the issue.
- Verifiable evidence or a credible citation proving the information is false.
- Your name, email address, and proof of paid subscription status.
Once we receive the claim, our editorial team will review it. If the claim is verified as a factual error, we will issue a $100 payment to the subscriber who identified it. The article will then be corrected with a clear public note acknowledging the change.
All confirmed errors and payouts will be logged on our Accountability Ledger, a public record of our corrections and integrity.
Rules and Conditions
- You must be a current paid subscriber at the time the claim is submitted.
- The error must be factual, not interpretive or opinion-based. Matters of tone, style, or framing do not qualify.
- The correction must be verifiable through credible sources such as official documents, peer-reviewed studies, or direct statements from primary sources.
- Claims must be submitted within 60 days of the article’s publication date.
- Only the first subscriber to identify and submit a verified factual error will receive the $100 payout.
- The payout will be issued electronically within 30 days of verification.
- The Grounded reserves the right to deny claims that are malicious, unverifiable, or based on subjective interpretation.
- All verified errors and payouts will be published on the Accountability Ledger to maintain transparency.
The Grounded was created to prove that truth still matters and that words still have weight. The $100 Guarantee exists to remind both writer and reader that honesty is not negotiable.
We do not claim to be perfect. We claim to care enough to fix it when we are wrong.
No ads. No noise. No hiding. Just accountability.
